When you create an account or use BetterGF, you may provide information including your name or display name, an email address, and partner information you choose to enter (such as a name, preferences, important dates, and interests). This information is used to personalize suggestions and improve your experience within the app.

2. Account and profile data

BetterGF stores account information and partner profiles to provide its core functionality. Your account data is stored securely and associated with your user identifier.

3. Location data

BetterGF may request access to your approximate or precise location to provide location-aware suggestions (such as nearby restaurants, venues, or gift retailers). Location access is requested only when relevant features are used and can be managed through your device settings. We do not continuously track your location in the background.

4. How information is used

Information you provide and data generated by your use of the app is used to:

• Deliver personalized date ideas, gift suggestions, and recommendations
• Maintain and improve your partner profile
• Provide location-aware suggestions when requested
• Operate and improve the app
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Service providers

BetterGF may use third-party services to operate the app. These may include:

• Backend infrastructure: Database and authentication services (confirm provider before publishing)
• AI services: Suggestion generation may use external AI APIs (confirm and name the provider(s) before publishing)
• Location services: Location-aware suggestions may use Google Places or similar APIs (confirm before publishing)
• Analytics: Crash reporting and usage analytics (confirm provider before publishing)

These providers access only the data necessary to perform their function and are required to handle it in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable law.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, your personal information and partner profiles will be deleted from our systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your choices

You have the following choices regarding your data:

• Edit or update your account and partner profile at any time within the app
• Revoke location permissions through your device settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data (see below)

8. Data deletion requests

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email hello@agnosticlabs.io with the subject line “BetterGF Data Deletion Request” and the email address associated with your account. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and complete deletion within 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

BetterGF is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide notice through the app or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of BetterGF after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
